Foreign Qualifications Guidelines

How international secondary qualifications map to UCE and UACE for IUEA entry — always subject to UNEB equating and NCHE consultation.

    IGCSE (Cambridge)

    Any grades used for entry must be reviewed by the Admissions Board based on UNEB equating and NCHE consultation.

    GCE A-Levels (Cambridge and other)

    UK A-Levels and equivalents require Admissions Board review with UNEB equating and NCHE consultation.

    International Baccalaureate Diploma

    Minimum of 24 points is considered a pass. Entry grades require Admissions Board review with UNEB/NCHE.

  4. 04

    South Sudan Certificate of Secondary Education (SSCSE)

    Holders must successfully complete an accredited foundation / access / Higher Education Certificate (or equivalent) for one year before programme entry.

    DRC — Diplôme d’État d’études secondaires

    Requires Admissions Board review, UNEB equating, NCHE consultation, and English language proficiency review.

  6. 06

    Nigeria — NECO SSCE / WAEC WASSCE

    Complete foundation / access / HEC for one year. Higher qualifications referred to NCHE. English proficiency tested if instruction was not in English.

    Kenya — KCSE

    Complete foundation / access / HEC (or equivalent) for one year as basis of entry.
