IUEA’s scholarship programme reflects the founders’ spirit of making education available regardless of race, gender, class, religion, or economic status — for current and prospective students.
Award pathways

- Be a prospective student — has finished high school and is qualified to join a university
- Be a continuing student with a CGPA of 3.0 or higher
- Exhibit academic talent and the desire to pursue scholarly work
- Participate in community service
- Participate in mentoring/coaching other students
- Maintain the IUEA Code for academic and social integrity
Scholarship value
- Full scholarship: covers tuition; excludes accommodation, functional fees, and upkeep
- Half scholarship: 50% fees discount; student covers remaining costs
As of 2020, eight countries have five scholarships each every five years: Uganda, Kenya, Rwanda, Burundi, South Sudan, DRC, Somalia, and Nigeria — awarded via Ambassadors on merit and gender balance.
Administered by the Academic Registrar’s office with a scholarship committee. BOD and University Council members also hold allocated scholarships.
